Organize in Style: The Modern Neat French Cleat Solution
Introducing The Neat French Cleat System
Hello, my name’s Alan and I love French cleats.
I’ve made hundreds of French cleat holders, but then I realized that everyone, including me, is doing it wrong.
We want to hang a tool on the wall, we make a holder, and that’s that. We end up with an ad hoc collection of tool holders – and loads of wasted space on our workshop walls.
So I thought, what if I made a selection of tool holders that are based on a series of set dimensions?
So I grabbed the sketchbook (iPad), made some drawings, fired up the laser, and started prototyping.
They hold my tools, I can still move them around, they just look a whole lot better and there’s less wasted space.
You can see some of the finished tool holders in the above photo.
French Cleat Wallboards
Wallboards are the base building blocks of the neat French cleat system. Just add dowels, hooks, or magnets to hang most hand tools.
Wallboard plans are available in 17 widths
These are available individually or in bundle deals
French Cleat Short Tallboards
Short Tallboards are designed to sit on the top cleat on your wall.
They are 390mm (16 1/4″) high, and they maximize the use of space and are ideal for longer tools like hammers, mallets, boxed socket sets, dustpans and brushes, etc.
Just add dowels, hooks or magnets to hang a wide selection of hand tools.
French Cleat Tallboards
Tallboards are designed to hang on the top cleat and provide storage solutions for longer hand tools like hammers, files, and marking tools.
