Drilling/Driving:
Keep your most-used tools where you reach first. I’ve designed French cleat holders for drills, drivers, bits, and batteries—all built to the same spec so they line up, swap cleanly, and look finished. Each plan is laser-ready (SVG/DXF/Lightburn) and downloads instantly.
Drill Holders
Clear bench. Clear head. Build a wall that makes you want to start. These plans turn clutter into calm—three drill holders, one tidy system. Front on, space saving design, ideal for small workshops.
These plans come in a single, double, or triple version, so you have 3 options depending on your selection of cordless drills.
Drill Shelf
A simple, rock-solid parking spot for your cordless drill. Sized for common driver footprints with a tidy profile that doesn’t steal wall space. Mount it at working height, and your drill always has a home between tasks.
Good for: drills, impact drivers, glue guns, and chargers.
Hex Bit Holder
Grab the right bit on the first try. This compact holder presents ¼″ hex bits in neat rows so labels face forward and swaps are quick. The angle keeps everything visible; the shared geometry means it drops straight onto any Neat French Cleat wall.
Good for: driver bits, nut setters, short extensions.
Double-Shelf Battery Storage (two-tier)
Store spare cordless batteries off the bench and ready to go. The two-tier layout keeps batteries upright, easy to see, and easy to grab—without blocking the row below. Built to the same sizes and thickness as the rest of the system, so it installs fast and stays aligned.
Good for: most 12/20V-class packs; mix and match as your setup grows.
Hand Tools
These are the tools you reach for all day. Our French cleat holders keep edges protected and handles clear—built to the same sizes, thickness, and geometry so rows line up and swaps are painless. All plans are laser-ready (SVG/DXF/Lightburn) and download instantly.
Chisel Rack
Keep chisels visible and safe. Built with rare-earth magnets, so your chisels are held safely and securely. The shared geometry drops straight onto any Neat French Cleat wall (on the top cleat) and stays aligned as you add more. Holds six chisels.
Good for: bench chisels, mortise chisels. Files: SVG/DXF/Lightburn.
Screwdriver Rack
Keep your drivers lined up, handles clear, and sizes easy to spot. The handle-up, tip-down layout drops shafts through laser-cut holes so they don’t rattle or slide off. Built to our one-spec cleat geometry, it mounts flush, sits under shelves, and scales with duplicate panels as your set grows.
Pliers Holder
Here I’ve just added dowels to simple wallboards. My plyers are easy to store, and it’s easy to spot if a pair is missing.
I laid out the pliers when the wallboard was flat, marked where I needed the dowels, drilled the holes using the drill press, and glued the dowels using some CA glue.
Good for: needle-nose, linesman, side cutters, etc. Files: SVG/DXF/Lightburn.
Other Handtools
I’ve used this method of wallboards and dowels to hold all sorts of hand tools, from hammers to cold chisels, from wrenches to dustpans and brushes. I simply measure the tools that I want to store, select the relevant wallboard, send the plans to the laser, and assemble when cut. I then add the dowels, and each tool now has a home.
For larger tools, I use bigger dowels (longer and larger diameter)
No laser? No problem.
Wondering if you really need a laser—or which one to buy?
You’re not alone. Most tools look overhyped or overpriced.
This quick guide breaks it down without the tech jargon or fluff.

Measuring & Marking
Layout tools need to be visible and grab-and-go. These French cleat holders keep tapes, squares, pencils, and calipers where you reach first—built to the same sizes, thickness, and geometry so rows line up, swaps are easy, and your wall looks finished. All plans are laser-ready (SVG/DXF).
Tape Measure Dock
Home base for your tape measures so they stop wandering. Again, this is a simple wallboard but I’ve screwed on a couple of Neodymium magnets that I bought from Amazon
Good for: 5–8 m/16–26 ft tapes. Files: SVG/DXF/Lightburn.
Pro Tip
As a side note, I often attach magnets to my French cleats. They are ideal for holding smaller tools. Here’s a 30 second video showing some use cases.
Speed Square and 90 Degree Squares Holder
Here I’ve just used a wallboard but I’ve added a triangular piece of 12mm ply as a stand off (as the speed square has a raised side) and some dowels to hold all 3 squares. I keep this holder just above my mitre saw and that’s where I use the speed square the most. Files: SVG/DXF/Lightburn.
Pencil Caddy (curved living hinge cup)
Keep pencils, markers, and brushes off the bench and visible. The curved living hinge cup looks great and lets you see color tips at a glance. Drops straight onto any Neat French Cleat wall and aligns with adjacent holders. This is my wife’s favorite holder.
Good for: pencils, markers, fine brushes. Files: SVG/DXF/Lightburn.

PPE & Safety — Ear Defenders, Masks/Goggles, Gloves Dispenser
Keep safety gear visible, dry, and grab-and-go. These holders follow the same sizes, thickness, and geometry—so rows line up, swaps are easy, and your wall looks finished. All plans are laser-ready (SVG/DXF).
Ear Defenders Holder
I took some inspiation for this holder from headset stands for gamers. They also spend long hours wearing their headphones and they display their tech with style. I wanted to do something similar.
So, park your earmuffs off the bench and protect the seals. A soft-radius hook prevents creasing, and the stand-off keeps cups from pressing against the wall so they dry between uses. Stack two holders side by side for a partner pair.
Good for: over-ear defenders. Files: SVG/DXF.
French Cleat Mask & Goggles Holder
I particularly like this holder. I set out to design something along the lines of the slot together plywood stag’s heads that you can buy online. I think it turned out really well. This is the French cleat that visitors to the workshop always comment on.
It provides one home for dust masks/respirators and eye protection. A vented cradle supports the mask without deforming the face seal, while offset pegs keep straps untangled and lenses scratch-free. Sits neatly under a shelf or beside sanding gear.
Good for: respirators (N95/P100), safety glasses, full goggles. Files: SVG/DXF/Lightburn.
Gloves Dispenser (box holder)
Stop hunting for gloves. This front-load dispenser grips common glove boxes and lets you pull one-handed; a thumb slot shows remaining count at a glance. Same mount profile means quick install and easy height changes.
Good for: 100-count disposable glove boxes (M/L/XL). Files: SVG/DXF/Lightburn.
