Other Handtools

The same wallboard‑plus‑dowels idea works for everything from hammers and cold chisels to wrenches, dustpans and brushes. Measure the tools, pick a matching wallboard plan, cut it on the laser and add dowels so every tool has a permanent home.
For larger tools, use longer, larger‑diameter dowels so they feel solid when you hang them.

Measuring & Marking

Layout tools need to be visible and grab‑and‑go. These French cleat holders keep tapes, squares, pencils and calipers where you reach first, all built to the same sizes and thickness so rows line up, swaps are easy and your wall looks finished.

Tape Measure Dock
Home base for your tape measures so they stop wandering. A simple wallboard with a couple of strong magnets gives each tape a fixed parking spot right in your main work zone.
Good for: 5–8 m / 16–26 ft tapes. Files: SVG/DXF/LightBurn.

Speed Square and 90 Degree Squares Holder
Turn a flat wallboard into a tidy square station. A simple ply standoff and a few dowels hold your speed square and 90° squares upright, right above the saw where you actually use them.

PPE & Safety — Ear Defenders, Masks/Goggles, Gloves Dispenser

Keep safety gear visible, dry and grab‑and‑go. These French cleat tool holders follow the same sizes and thickness as the rest of your wall, so rows line up, swaps are easy and everything looks finished. All plans are laser‑ready (SVG/DXF).

Ear Defenders Holder

Park your earmuffs off the bench and protect the seals. A soft‑radius hook prevents creasing, and the stand‑off keeps cups from pressing against the wall so they can dry properly between uses; add a second holder beside it for a partner pair.
Good for: over‑ear defenders. Files: SVG/DXF.

FAQs

Which tools do I need to build these?

A laser cutter, in some cases, a drill, maybe some hand tools, and some CA glue.

What file formats are included?

Individual cleats come in DXF, SVG, and Lightburn formats.
Bundle packs are available in DXF format, accompanied by a link to a file converter.

What material thickness are these designed for?

Most holders are designer for 6 mm (¼″) ply – in some cases, some 3mm plywood is required as well (1/4″). Use the test coupon to dial in finger joints for your material/kerf.

Will these fit my existing French-cleat wall?

Yes—standard 45° cleats. If your rail depth differs, adjust the cleat back piece (noted in the plan).

Can I sell what I build?

Personal use is fine. For small-batch/commercial use, reach out for a simple license.

What if I need help sizing or cutting?

Email us with a photo of your setup—we’re happy to advise.

Are digital purchases refundable?

Because files are delivered instantly, digital plans are non-refundable, but we’ll make sure you’re successful with support and updates.
